None of the options are perfect or easy, but if you are considering joining the military, you must already be prepared to put up with a lot of restrictions and rules.
Job Corps: This program gets you out of the house, and provides academic, vocational, and social skills training you need to gain independence and get quality, long-term jobs or further your education.
This campaign focuses on creating or changing policies/programs that improve the health and well being of community members. By the end of the summer, students will become experts on a specific issue related to this topic and create a group action plan around a policy/program they wish to change or implement. Campaign issues may include: community violence & healing, sexual/reproductive health issues, mental/physical concerns, and food justice.
As part of the MLDC, JRF Scholars are required to participate in non-profit community service and/or civic engagement, recognizing both the value they add to their communities and that this is key to the enhancement of one’s personal and professional self-esteem.
