A National High School Intervention
For participating organizations:
Winning the Peace is a national leafleting campaign.
NNOMY is working with War Resisters League to distribute palm cards at high schools that will direct youth to online resources that they can access on their mobile devices. This information and additional links will assist them in answering the questions they will have about the realities of military enlistment that they will not hear from military recruiters, and direct them to non-military alternatives to achieve their future educational and career goals.

If we stay on message and return to our adopted schools every school year, we will have an impact by engaging our schools, families and youth in a deeper discussion about what it means to be in the military during this time of unending conflicts.
This moment has never been more important, with increasing Pentagon programs in primary, middle and secondary schools, to ask young people to question the normalization of our wars and the risks and impacts that military enlistment can have on their lives and those around them.
Please talk with your group and decide to join in a national intervention to reach young people before they are directed into future violent conflicts.

The warning, given to me 25 years ago, came at the moment Pat Robertson and other radio and televangelists began speaking about a new political religion that would direct its efforts at taking control of all institutions, including mainstream denominations and the government. Its stated goal was to use the United States to create a global, Christian empire. It was hard, at the time, to take such fantastic rhetoric seriously, especially given the buffoonish quality of those who expounded it. But Adams warned us against the blindness caused by intellectual snobbery. The Nazis, he said, were not going to return with swastikas and brown shirts. Their ideological inheritors had found a mask for fascism in the pages of the Bible. - Chris Hedges (From his article:
