The Pentagon, in this COVID moment, cannot send military recruiters to schools so they are deploying military ESports Teams to engage young people in online competitive gaming and using it as a platform for military recruiting, and it is growing.
Find out what is going on and how activists are pushing back in this workshop for the VFP 2020 Convention called, Full Spectrum Counter-Recruitment.

-
Today, less than 0.5% of the U.S. population serves in the armed forces, compared with more than 12% during World War II. Very often, the public's perception of the military lifestyle is limited to what they’ve seen on the news, TV, or video games. As veterans we know the truth of what happens in war and VFP members across the U.S work with young people before they enlist, to help them understand what it’s really like to be part of the U.S. military.

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

A Brochure for Young Women Thinking About Joining the Military | 2022

"When I joined, I knew that women in the military faced an uphill battle, but I didn't fully understand how serious the issues were and how reluctant leadership is to doing anything about it.

The truth is that there's a culture of harassment and assault that is incredibly harmful to all troops, but especially to gender minorities."
