3rd JROTC Program Closes in Louisiana Parish

3rd JTOTC Program Closed in Louisiana Parish - The Beauregard Parish School Board has decided to close the DeRidder High School JROTC program this year.  A steady decline in enrollment numbers is the main reason for the final decision to terminate the program.

 

  The closing of the program follows the termination of the Merryville JROTC in the 2000-2001 school year, and the East Beauregard JROTC in the 2004-2005 school year.

Additional Info:  The mission of BAY-Peace is to support and empower young people to resist aggressive military recruiting and war.  We serve youth around the SF Bay Area, but particularly focus on working class students of color in the East Bay who are especially vulnerable to economic pressures to join the military after high school.
